Marketplace of Favors (“MOF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by [WYOMING LLC NAME], a Wyoming limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information about users of the MOF platform. By creating an account or using MOF, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Identity information: name, email address, profile photo
• Professional information: current role, company, career stage, industries
• Educational information: school name, graduation year, degree level
• LinkedIn profile data: employment history, education, profile URL, industry — collected when you connect LinkedIn via OAuth
• Platform activity: requests posted, offers made, transactions, credits earned and spent, messages sent, timestamps
• Outcome data: self-reported interview outcomes, job offers, funding results, and other results you choose to report
• Optional equity data: first-generation college student status and international student status — self-reported, never required, used only in aggregated and de-identified form for institutional reporting
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, cookies, and usage logs

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and improve the MOF platform
• Match requesters with helpers using AI-powered and rule-based algorithms
• Display your profile to other verified MOF users
• Send transactional notifications (offer received, vetting call scheduled, credits earned, etc.)
• Generate your Impact History and reputation score
• Produce aggregated, de-identified outcome reports for partner institutions (e.g., Georgia Tech career services)
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and platform manipulation
• Comply with legal obligations

4. LinkedIn Data

When you connect LinkedIn via OAuth, we access your public profile data including employment history, education, industry, and profile URL. We use this data to:

• Verify your professional identity
• Improve the quality of matching recommendations
• Pre-populate profile fields to reduce friction

We do not post to LinkedIn on your behalf, access your LinkedIn messages, or share your LinkedIn data with third parties. You may disconnect LinkedIn at any time from your profile settings, which will remove your LinkedIn verification status.

5. AI and Automated Processing

MOF uses automated systems including AI embedding models (currently Voyage AI) to:

• Generate semantic similarity scores between requests and helper offers
• Surface relevant matches in Browse and the “Matched for you” widget
• Send proactive matching notifications to helpers

No automated decision-making produces legal or similarly significant effects on users. All matches are suggestions — users retain full control over whether to act on them.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

• With other MOF users: your public profile information and posted requests are visible to verified MOF users. Your credit balance, rating details, and equity fields are never publicly visible.
• With partner institutions: aggregated, de-identified outcome data only (e.g., “40% of GT pilot users reported a proximate outcome within 7 days”). No individual user data is shared with institutions without your explicit consent.
• With service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Voyage AI (embeddings). Each provider is contractually bound to handle data only as directed by MOF.
• For legal compliance: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of MOF users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide platform services. If you delete your account:

• Your personal profile data (name, email, LinkedIn) is anonymized within 30 days
• Your completed transactions, ratings, and outcome data are retained in anonymized form to preserve platform integrity and institutional reporting accuracy
• Your messages are deleted
• Your credits are forfeited

To request account deletion, email privacy@marketplaceoffavors.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate profile information at any time via your profile settings
• Request deletion of your account and personal data (see Section 7)
• Opt out of non-transactional email communications via the unsubscribe link in any email
• Disconnect LinkedIn OAuth at any time from your profile settings

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Row-level security (RLS) on all database tables
• Encrypted data at rest and in transit (Supabase, Vercel)
• Rate limiting on authentication endpoints
• Pre-commit hooks preventing credentials from entering the codebase
• Admin access controls with audit logging

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify affected users of any confirmed data breach within 72 hours of discovery.

10. Children

MOF is not intended for users under 18 years of age. By creating an account you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the version number and effective date at the top of this document
• Notify you via email and in-app notification
• Require re-acceptance before you can continue using the platform if changes are material

Continued use of MOF after the effective date of a non-material update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
